Jack Hamill Press Kit

Bio

Jack Hamill is a singer-songwriter based out of Atlanta, GA, whose music combines the energy and instrumentation of vintage rock n’ roll with modern, hook-centric songwriting and intimate lyrics. Both as a solo artist and frontman for the band Rabbit Season, Jack has performed at venues all across Atlanta and the Southeast, such as Smith’s Olde Bar, Eddie’s Attic, Venkman’s, Hendershot’s, The Railyard, and many more. With these music projects, along with his work as a gigging cover artist, he has built a modest but dedicated following in the Atlanta area.

Jack Hamill had barely ever picked up a guitar before he was gifted one by his parents as a high school graduation present. For the next few years, he pursued it as a passionate hobby while studying at the University of Georgia, but the instrument was never more than that until his father passed away suddenly 5 years ago. Thus began a journey to create art capable of healing his grief and honoring all that his dad gave him. This journey started with three singles, “Looking for You”, “Nice to see you again”, and “Never Less”, released in 2020 and 2021 as a solo artist. Jack then threw his creative energy into a new project, Rabbit Season, working as songwriter and frontman for the band. The group broke up earlier this year, and now Jack is back as a solo artist with his most mature, vulnerable, and powerful work yet, “I Wrote This Album Because I Love You” (IWTABILY).

IWTABILY is Jack’s debut album, recorded at 4115 Studio with WireBird Productions in Nashville, TN. Pulling from a long list of compositions written over the past five years, Jack and producer Brett Ryan Stewart chose a collection of ten songs that most cohesively encapsulated the confusion, grief, and naive hope that has permeated his life since the loss of his father. This collection of songs was then recorded live with a full band over 4 days, and is finally ready to be shared with the world. The Album’s first single, “I Remember When”, was released April 14, to be followed soon by “Double Exposure” on May 19.
